At Pacific Ridge, students engage deeply with both the performing and visual arts through a diverse and dynamic curriculum. From vocal and instrumental music, dance, and theater to studio art, ceramics, graphic design, photography, and more, the program emphasizes artistic exploration, personal expression, and interdisciplinary learning. Guided by expert faculty and the collaborative Harkness approach, students refine technique, develop creative strategies, and explore how art connects with culture, history, and society. Whether rehearsing for a production or crafting a piece in the studio, students are encouraged to draw from personal experience, think critically, and communicate original ideas—skills that inspire lifelong artistic engagement and prepare them for creative pursuits in college and beyond.

Our students immerse themselves in the arts and benefit from the expertise of talented and dedicated faculty. Beautiful, state-of-the-art facilities are home to artistic endeavors of all kinds and offer a hub for cross-curricular innovation on campus.
All sixth, seventh, and eighth graders participate in a year-long Middle School Arts Program, gaining exposure to disciplines they may not have experienced before. Students explore various art forms including dance, vocal music, digital media, theater, studio art, and instrumental music. Performances and visual art shows take place throughout the year, including the lively sixth grade play every November.
Upper School students take year-long classes in the arts. More than 30 classes and multiple levels of instruction are available, from introductory to Advanced Placement. Arts teachers encourage students to achieve high levels of technical skill while developing their individual creative voices and methods of expression.
