We’re thrilled to announce Brett Balkan as the new Head Coach of our Varsity Baseball program. A Carlsbad native and former Division I standout at Cal State Northridge, Coach Balkan brings an impressive background as both a professional athlete and seasoned coach. His playing career includes two professional championships, an MVP title, and national honors as a junior college All-American and Gold Glove shortstop.
For more than a decade, Coach Balkan has focused on player development through Balkan Hitting and Holistic Baseball, coaching hundreds of athletes and directing elite travel programs. He also brings valuable high school coaching experience from Rancho Bernardo High School.
Coach Balkan’s passion for the game, technical expertise, and deep community roots make him an exciting addition to Firebird Athletics. Please join us in welcoming him to Pacific Ridge and celebrating the next chapter of Firebird Baseball!

The Pacific Ridge School Girls Varsity Tennis team wrapped up an incredible regular season with a decisive 17–1 victory over Classical Academy, securing the title of Coastal Pacific League Champions and completing an undefeated league season.

Heading into Thursday’s match, Pacific Ridge and Classical were tied for first place in the Coastal Pacific League. The Firebirds rose to the challenge, earning a decisive 12–6 victory to take sole possession of first with a 6–0 league record and three matches remaining.
