The CIF Division IV Boys Soccer SoCal Regional State Championship was an all-San Diego Section showdown, as the Pacific Ridge Firebirds hosted the Central Union Spartans in an unforgettable title match.

After a scoreless first half, Central Union struck twice from outside the box, putting the Spartans up 2-0. With time running out, the Firebirds mounted an incredible comeback.

With ten minutes left, a Nick Axelson '25 free kick into the box created chaos, and Max Pulvers '25 capitalized, knocking in a goal to make it 2-1. Just three minutes later, another Axelson free kick found the head of Audel Mobasher '26, who sent it into the back of the net to tie the game at 2-2, forcing extra time.

It took just 41 seconds into extra time for Max Pulvers to seal the championship. Dribbling from midfield, he launched a rocket into the bottom left corner, clinching the golden goal and securing the state title for the Firebirds! 🎉🔥

The Boys finished the season with 17 straight wins, going undefeated throughout league, CIF, and State!

Congratulations to the team on an incredible season and a well-earned State Championship!
