Heading into Thursday’s match, Pacific Ridge and Classical were tied for first place in the Coastal Pacific League. The Firebirds rose to the challenge, earning a decisive 12–6 victory to take sole possession of first with a 6–0 league record and three matches remaining.

Highlights included a standout performance from Mila Ellingsen '28, who defeated Classical’s top singles player 6–3 and swept all three of her sets. In doubles, Katherine French '26 and Mathilde Lapointe '28 went undefeated, while the rising duo of Ariana Samady '29 and Alexa Costa Diaz '29 and the pair of Parisa Mazarei '27 and Gia Gaudio '29 also secured clutch wins to seal the victory.

On Friday, the Firebirds faced a tough non-league opponent in Santa Fe Christian. After falling to SFC by a wide margin last season, PRS showed remarkable growth this year, battling to a 9–9 tie in sets. The match came down to total games won, with SFC narrowly edging out the Firebirds 84–73.

Even in defeat, there were many bright spots: French and Lapointe once again won all three of their doubles sets, Samady and Costa Diaz notched an impressive tiebreak victory, and Maddie Rubio '26 and Mazarei added two doubles wins of their own.

It was an incredible week of tennis that showcased resilience, teamwork, and major strides against top competition. The Firebirds remain firmly in the hunt for a league title and continue to prove they can compete with the area’s strongest programs.
