Upper School Athletics

Pacific Ridge School's upper school athletic programs build on the sound foundations of our excellent middle school programs and offer even more options and opportunities for growth and challenge. At the upper school level student-athletes competing in interscholastic team sports tend to specialize in one or two sports. However, we also celebrate the multi-sport athlete and encourage our students to consider participating in multiple sports. We recognize the powers of specialization and generalization, and we provide our athletes with options for both. We also encourage them to make the best use of our cutting-edge strength and condition program – offered during the school day for freshmen and sophomores and after school for all upper school athletes.

Pacific Ridge School is a member of the California Interscholastic Federation San Diego Section (CIF), and competes in the Coastal Conference, which includes the following schools: La Jolla Country Day, The Bishop's School, Francis Parker, Santa Fe Christian, Tri-City Christian, Calvin Christian, Escondido Adventist, Foothills Christian, Guajome Park Academy, Army & Navy Academy, Maranatha Christian, Classical Academy, Del Lago Academy, Escondido Charter, San Diego Jewish Academy, Orange Glen High School and Horizon Christian. To further opportunities for high-level competition, most upper school teams play games against larger public schools such as Torrey Pines, La Costa Canyon, Canyon Crest Academy, Poway, Grossmont and Westview, and face teams from all over San Diego in post-season play.

Upper school teams generally practice five days a week after school and compete in two games per week.

In addition to competitive sports, Pacific Ridge School offers Upper School students a comprehensive Physical Education program. Please visit our Physical Education page for more information.
