After-School Program Winter 2025

Program Dates:  Tuesday Afternoons, December 2 - February 10 (excluding winter break)
Time: 3:15  - 5:15 p.m. (2 hr)
Grades: 6 - 9
Instructor: Tennessee Cothran -Bray
Cost: $450 (includes $25 materials fee)

This once-per-week course is designed to make students feel comfortable using hand and power tools to build, repair, and problem-solve.  Students will receive instruction in different ways to cut, attach, shape, and finish wood and other materials, while also learning how to handle tools safely.  Each student will leave the after-school program with a finished project of their own design and the knowledge of how to use tools to create solutions.

Looking for a space to learn and connect with other aspiring musicians? Come jam in our after-school PRS rock band! Join us on Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 throughout the winter to dial into creativity and have fun as you learn to play guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboards, and/or vocals. In this band, we will spend time exploring our instruments, rehearsing, learning songs, and songwriting. Who knows where the music might lead us?
Designed for musicians of all skill levels, this enrichment course is perfect for anyone looking to dive into the world of music and find their own unique voice, all while making some great friends along the way. Be a part of something incredible - the creation of an official Middle School Debate Team!  

I’m not arguing with you, I’m just explaining why I’m right! In Middle School Debate, students will work together to research a topic, write an argument for or against a resolution, and present their case. PRS competes in the Orange County Debate League, and this course will prepare students to compete on the PRS Middle School Debate Team in a league tournament in the fall and winter. We will discuss strategies for not only building one's own case but also anticipating counterarguments and responding directly to an opponent's claims. We will also hone our research skills and explore topics with real-world relevance, while practicing good sportsmanship and teamwork. Contact Mx.
