The Pacific Ridge Extension program provides the opportunity for students to explore various disciplines in an informal learning environment.

Improv Theater - 11 Sessions

Program Dates: Tuesday afternoons, February 25 - May 13, excluding spring break.

Time: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Grades: 6 - 9

Course Size: 11 Students

Instructor: Eileen Valverde, English Teacher

Cost: $275

No script? No problem! Using a series of improvisation games and exercises, students will develop not only their confidence and creativity but also their listening and public speaking skills. We will learn how to trust and support our scene partners and work on providing a full story arc within an improvised sketch. The course will culminate with an informal performance. This class is facilitated by Eileen Valverde, a Pacific Ridge English teacher who began her work in improv at Duke University.

After-School Studio-Art - 9 Sessions

Program Dates: Thursday afternoons, February 27 - May 15, excluding March 20, April 10, and May 1

Time: 3:30 - 5 p.m.

Grades: 6 - 9

Instructor: Summer Haddaway

Cost: $325

Our After-School Studio Art Course is a fun, creative space for students of all skill levels to practice art beyond the classroom. Whether you're interested in drawing, painting, printmaking, or mixed media, you'll get the chance to try it all while learning new techniques and building your artistic skills. No matter where you're starting from, you'll get personalized tips and support to help you grow as an artist and have fun along the way. It's a great chance to express yourself, try out new materials, and get inspired!
