Scaling Up in Intro to Algebra: Middle School Students Explore Ratios and Proportions

During a recent Intro to Algebra class, Mr. McLaughlin asked middle school students to bring mathematical concepts to life through a hands-on exploration of scale factor and proportional reasoning. Rather than working solely with numbers on a page, students applied algebraic thinking to a creative design challenge.

Exploring Life on Mars: Middle School Science Students Study Atmospheric Conditions Through a Hands-On Lesson

Through an experiment using balloons and marshmallows, Science 8 students are better able to understand the conditions on the surface of Mars. This experiment helps them better understand what might happen to their Mars Colony, and does it in a fun and engaging way!
