PRS - Civic Engagement
On Thursday night, PRS hosted our Second Annual Mayors’ Forum! There, Carlsbad Mayor Keith Blackburn, Encinitas Mayor Bruce Ehlers, San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones, Solana Beach Mayor Lesa Heebner, and Oceanside Mayor Esther Sanchez discussed housing and homelessness policy in a forum moderated by Voice of San Diego's Tigist Layne.
The discussion focused around recent state legislation affecting local housing development like SB 79, Density Bonus Law, and Builder’s Remedy. Further, the mayors stressed the need for collective action and collaboration with the county addressing complex issues like homelessness.
The upper school Civic Leadership Academy and AP US Government and Politics students participated as well! Sawyer Sandvoll ‘28, Chloe Needham ‘27, Aarya Dave ‘28, and Maya Schneider ‘28 asked questions to the mayors, and Lucian Clark ‘27 and Jack Bowen Nesbit ‘27 filmed the event. PRS looks forward to hosting the mayors again next year just in time for the midterm elections!

On November 21, Pacific Ridge hosted its annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day, welcoming over 300 guests to campus for a day of celebration and connection.
