Students Design Internship with Birch Aquarium
Mrs. Julie Gunther, NExT program director at Pacific Ridge School, helped guide Claire Huntington ('20) from Encinitas and Sophie Schmitter ('21) from Carlsbad in the set up and execution of their self-designed summer internship with Birch Aquarium. The girls were able to gain great experience by working with marine life while also building professional relationships and creating future employment opportunities. The girls are quoted as saying “The internship wasn’t just about marine science, but also a great opportunity to gain experience in public speaking” as they spoke to and helped around 600 guests a day!
