NO PLACE FOR HATE®
No Place for Hate® is a national program supporting schools in their commitment to celebrating diversity, promoting respect for differences, and challenging bias and bullying at all levels. The program was developed by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a leading anti-hate organization that has worked for over a century to “secure justice and fair treatment to all.”

The below descriptions for the No Place for Hate® program come from the San Diego Anti-Defamation League’s website.

What is No Place for Hate®?
No Place for Hate® is an organizing framework and ADL partnership program for K-12 schools committed to creating sustainable change that leads to improved school climate. Participating schools incorporate ADL’s anti-bias and anti-bullying resources with their existing programming to form one powerful message that all students have a place to belong. Over 1,800 schools across the country participate in No Place for Hate® annually.

What is the goal of No Place for Hate®?
The goal of No Place for Hate® is to inspire a national movement led by students and educators who are committed to using the power of positive peer influence to build inclusive and safe schools in which all students can thrive. Review the No Place for Hate guidebook for even more information.

Steps to become a No Place for Hate® School for 2020/21:
  1. Register your school: Pacific Ridge has been registered for the 2020-21 year.
  2. Create a No Place for Hate® Committee: This student-centered coalition is responsible for identifying bias and bullying issues in the school, developing measurable goals to address these issues, and coordinating and overseeing the implementation of anti-bias and diversity activities throughout the year designed to achieve those goals. This coalition will include students, staff, administrators, and family members that reflect the diversity of the school community. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please email Director of Community & Inclusion Susan Woods at swoods@pacificridge.org.
  1. Sign the No Place for Hate® Pledge: All members of the school community must commit to the goal of No Place for Hate® by signing the No Place for Hate® Pledge to start the school year. To sign the pledge, click here.
  2. Complete at least 3 School-Wide No Place for Hate® Activities: These activities are currently being planned for the 2020-21 school year.
