Local Non-Profits 'Plant a Seed' for 10th-Grade Projects

Each year, Pacific Ridge sophomores are challenged to identify a need or problem in the community, and develop their own creative solutions as part of the Planting a Seed project.
On November 30th, students got a head start on project preparations by visiting a variety of local, non-profit organizations including the International Rescue Committee, Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation, Helen Woodward Animal Center, The Monarch School, Boys and Girls Club, Patagonia, LGBT Resource Center, and Solutions for Change. Sophomores toured the facilities, completed service work, and interviewed organization personnel about the communities they serve, the unique challenges they face, and ways students can get involved.
