World events were given a human face on February 16, when several Syrian refugee children and teens spoke during Community Life. The children, ranging in ages 8 - 17, had a variety of challenging experiences in their home country and while coming to America. Thoughts that many echoed were how happy they are to be here in the U.S., how much they appreciate being able to go to school, and the law and order in our society. Students had insightful questions and were moved by the refugees' stories. Special thanks to junior Nadia Al-faraje who organized the event, and helped translate for the guests who didn't speak English.
