Many in San Diego’s homeless community had a special Valentine’s Day thanks to Pacific Ridge. A hard-working group of middle school families gathered on Sunday to organize 49 large boxes of food and household items contributed by school families and decorated 50 Valentine boxes filled with treats, fresh socks and hand-written cards. The household items will help families getting started in new housing and the Valentine’s boxes were a happy surprise for homeless individuals that stayed at a shelter served by Interfaith Community Services on February 14. Thank you to all families who contributed items, to the Parents Association for organizing the service event, and to Interfaith’s Denise Fonseco, who spoke with families on Sunday about the organization’s important work.
