LabRats San Diego Interactive Science Enrichment

Extension courses are open to both Pacific Ridge students and students from the larger community.

17th, April 24th, May 1st, May 8th
Time: 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Grade levels: 5-8

These 8-week interactive, hands-on lab sessions are designed to inspire and motivate students grades 5-8 to gain authentic competency in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Our approach is built on creating fun and engaging experiences to develop strong character, self-confidence, passion and strength in knowledge.

About the Instructor

The interactive labs are instructed by Dr. Shawn Carlson, a physicist and innovator in STEM education. His scientific approach has been featured in many national publications such as Newsweek, US News, World Report and Scientific American as well as numerous newspapers and TV shows.  In recognition of his work in science education, Dr. Carlson received the prestigious MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship Award.
